like a kirtan chant made visible, these hot (by Durango standards; about 88 degrees) sexy summer days are made just that much more blissful by the near daily monsoon afternoon showers which swing through, making everything from sunflowers to baby daughters grow like skyscrapers before my eyes…
Mine were eyes, heart, and spirit too feeble to keep track of the astral magnetism of this river/mountain hamlet of priceless high-altitude prana today. For, within these ‘everyday moments’ which i forced myself out of the Awakened M(om)ent to attempt to capture periodically for you, was a mystical Breath inside a breath, as if each moment lived was a fractured cosmic code embedded upon soul wings on the verge of cracking due to abundance of a magnitude unspeakable…
regardless of how STEEP, of how DIRECT is this Path of Transformation? we MUST continue placing one foot in front of the other…ever upward, ever inward, ever Go(o)dward…if feeble ilg is still doing it…i KNOW you can…let’s Begin Again tomorrow…and if we fall? Begin Again, and Again…and Endlessly Again until Enlightenment…

here is how i spent my day-before-Father’s Day…i have no idea what the girls have planned for me today…enjoy and Blessed be ALL CONSCIOUS PARENTS EVERYWHERE IN ALL REALMS….
i took this shot after picking up Ananda just south of Baker’s Bridge a few days ago after she did some triathlon training. as a family, we then threw sticks into a creek, watched Wapiti Beings relax into a sunset, and just enjoy other basic family necessities. such sweetness in the moment is the Blessed Common Denominator to living in Durango…
Then came that Day when my Anahata Chakra opened…

Brahmamuhurti (Yogic hour of God…sunset or sunrise) to be even more accurate. during those years i was the manager of the Center For Self Healing in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Santa Fe is a world-renown spiritual vortex which speeds up whatever Inner Work you may need to accomplish. ilg was at that time a pranic drunk; etherically gorging myself each day from the chronic smorgasbord of delectable world-class spiritual appetizers for which Fanta-Se was known. you name it? ilg was there; Rolfing, Yoga, Kundalini, Re-birthing, Astral Navigation, Zen Sessins, Tibetan energywork, Buddhist chanting, Feldenkrais, Cranio-Sacral, Past Life, Tarot, Sufi Dancing, Men’s Tribal Drumming…whatever it was? i can do it, i can do it…i kept telling myself…up and over a short roller, we went..we passed a lap racer…Tim was in the finishing straight, the people were cheering, nordic bells were ringing…this is why we race…i stabbed my ski poles in a vicious manner, pumping out my V2 cadence with as much Warrior verve as i could muster.
i finished 2 seconds behind him, 7th Overall…3rd in my Age Group.
tomorrow would be another day; MY DAY TO DEFEND MY KING OF THE MOUNTAIN TITLE! could i do it…especially after wasting myself on this brutally beautiful 15k? hmmm….
